Dave Thakar

Dave & Granddaughter Nic0lette

Dave, co-owner of Rhapsody Hill Farm, is Jane's husband. In addition to building the barn with help from their children, he plays a vital role in the success of the farm. He is the go-to guy and handyman for all things farm-related. He uses the tractor to remove manure and snow, drags the arena and paddocks, repairs fences and other structures around the farm. Although he is not a frequent rider himself, he likes to spoil the horses with treats and carrots and watch Jane and the students ride. He is also the farm's chief photographer and manages the farm's web site.

A creative director and graphic designer by profession, Dave creates incredible pieces of art inspired by the horses. He has done a number of beautiful horse wire sculptures which can be viewed at his website, www.ArtByDevendra.com. His striking aluminum horse sculpture “Sentry” welcomes students and visitors at the entrance of the farm.

"I rode for the very first time at Rhapsody Hill Farm, and have now been riding there more than fourteen years. I knew right away that this barn was the right place for me. It is a welcoming and comfortable place to learn, no matter your experience level. Their caring and encouraging style has helped me to become a strong, confident rider, and person as well. I have learned far beyond just how to ride, but also about good sportsmanship, safety, and horsemanship skills. I love riding and showing with my barn family, and will always continue to grow as a rider at Rhapsody Hill Farm."
